Bodegas Beronia Crianza 2006
Bodegas Beronia With Rioja Alta grapes, from the calcareous clay soils, we produce fine wines with floral sensations, reminding one of fresh flashy berries, smooth in the mouth and agreeable as it passes through. Color: ruby red with bluish tones. Clean and brilliant. Medium-to-high intensity. Bouquet: a vanilla aroma over wild fruits, raspberry, blackberry and a touch of cherry, with hints of toasted bread and green spices. Taste: the entry is fruity and transmits just the correct balance of wood. Well structured, with high-roast, spice and liquorice flavours remaining. It is an ideal companion to pasta, pulse and meat dishes. Wine Enthusiast A little richer and slightly more oaked than Beronia's basic '06 Rioja, this crianza has a nice red-fruit character, body weight and plump, friendly flavors of raspberry and red plum. With smooth tannins and vanilla on the finish, it comes across as a classic-style everyday Rioja. Drink now through 2010. Score: 87. —Michael Schachner, November 01, 2009.Wine Spectator Tobacco and vanilla notes frame a core of cherry fruit in this tender, juicy red, which has a silky texture, with just enough tannins for grip. Drink now through 2011. 320,000 cases made. Score: 87. —Thomas Matthews, April 30, 2010.All sizes are 750mL unless otherwise noted.
