Château Lalande Borie Saint Julien 2006
Wine Enthusiast Firm and tight, with a layer of minerality over the dark tannins. The black currant and licorice flavors are just beginning to penetrate this tannic shell. The acidity is intense, giving the wine a fresh, almost crisp finish. Score: 88. —Roger Voss, March 01, 2009.Wine Spectator Blackberry aromas, with chocolate and cream, follow through to a medium body, with pleasant tannins and a medium finish. Refined and delicate. Best from 2011 through 2014. Score: 87. —James Suckling, March 31, 2009.Wine Advocate Made by Ducru-Beaucaillou’s Bruno Borie, this is a fruit-driven, Merlot-dominated 2006 displaying notes of sweet cherries, tobacco leaf, and roasted herbs offered in a medium-bodied, evolved, straightforward style. Consume it over the next 4-5 years. Score: 87. —Robert Parker, February 2009.All sizes are 750mL unless otherwise noted.
